Indira Gandhi Medical College, also known as the Himachal Pradesh Medical College, was established in 1966. It is one of the best medical colleges in the city of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The college is affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University. Both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered here, with undergraduate programs providing for 120 MBBS seats and postgraduate, 138 seats across 26 specialties. The National Medical Commission recognizes the college. The associated hospital is a 800-bed tertiary care center that offers comprehensive services and modern facilities in medicine, surgery, cardiology, radiotherapy, neurology, and so on. Of course, IGMC has been declared as a Regional Cancer Center, thereby boosting its oncology services.
